At this point in the meeting it was agreed to discuss the recommendations of the Interview Panel regarding the appointment of the new Town Clerk, Responsible Financial Officer, Proper Officer of Brandon Town Council. The Acting Clerk, Mrs C Mason left the room.

THAT MRS C MASON BE APPOINTED TOWN CLERK, RESPONSIBLE FINANCIAL OFFICER AND PROPER OFFICER OF BRANDON TOWN COUNCIL INITIALLY ON A SIX MONTHS PROBATIONARY PERIOD 
12.  BRANDON REMEMBRANCE PLAYING FIELD
Provision of allotments. The meeting to discuss the offer of land for allotments is due
to be held on the 21st November 2005. An update will be given at the next Brandon Town Council meeting. Cllr. Mrs M Young thought it practical that first and foremost a survey should be carried out to determine the level of interest in owning an allotment. Cllr. R Silvester said at present there were at least ten interested parties.   

13.  MARKET HILL PARKING 
Following a successful meeting between Councillors and Colin Bird from Suffolk County Council it is anticipated a traffic order will be made changing the status of Market Hill to a no parking zone. A report, in liaison with the Police is to be prepared for discussion at a future meeting.

14.  MANOR ROAD ENTRANCE TO FOOTPATH 13
A site meeting is to be arranged between Brandon Town Council and SCC Highways
to discuss suitable options for a safety barrier at the entrance to Footpath 13.

15.  THE ORCHARD, COULSON LANE, BRANDON
With outstanding issues now resolved it is envisaged the contractors Brookes & Wood Ltd will be working at the Orchard site shortly.

16.  RESOLUTION from Cllr. S Newbon  Resolution No. 124
‘That this Council resolves to call a meeting with Highways, with delegated Members attending, to take into consideration the whole issue of parking / speeding in Crown Street’

19.  RESOLUTION from Cllr. N Vant  Resolution No. 127
‘Brandon Town Council resolves to write to Forest Heath District Council demanding that member’s of its Standard committee desist from making derogatory comment in the press regarding BTC’s rejection of the Committee’s improper sanction in case number SBE 5779.04 and to demand an apology for its actions to date’

THAT THIS COUNCIL WRITES TO FOREST HEATH DISTRICT COUNCIL DEMANDING THAT MEMBER’S OF ITS STANDARDS COMMITTEE DESIST FROM MAKING DEROGATORY COMMENT IN THE PRESS REGARDING BTC’S REJECTION OF THE COMMITTEE’S IMPROPER SANCTION IN CASE NUMBER SBE 5779.04 AND TO DEMAND AN APOLOGY FOR ITS ACTIONS TO DATE
19.1 To discuss relevant training for new Councillors/Staff
The clerk will be notified by SALC when new courses are available. There are presently no vacant places on the current training programmes.

20.  PEDESTRIAN SAFETY AT THE JUNCTION OF LONDON ROAD AND
RATTLERS ROAD, BRANDON

A further on-site meeting has been requested with Suffolk County Council Highways Department.
With reference to a separate safety issue Cllr. S Newbon asked that his concerns over the stability of the cemetery wall be noted.
